Growing up surrounded by craft and creativity my mother taught me to knit and crochet. I spent my school holidays on my grandparent’s sheep farm playing in wool bins and learning first hand how Australian wool is produced. Bliss.
I decided to channel this creativity into a Bachelor of Fashion at the University of Technology, Sydney. Whilst studying I took my knitting skills up a notch, buying a vintage 1970’s Singer knitting machine and teaching myself how to hand machine knit. After graduating I began a career in commercial fashion design at some of Australia’s most iconic fashion labels, learning first hand the reality of commercial fashion. Before long I was dreaming of starting my own hand made knitwear label, taking fashion back to its original artisan roots. And so out of my bedroom at Raglan Street in Sydney I began 'Raglan St Wears'.
Raglan St Wears offers a range of bespoke handmade knitwear, knit kits and workshops. Each piece is lovingly designed and uniquely hand made by me, using locally sourced Australian and reclaimed yarns.
Let's share the passion of knitting and encourage thoughtful fashion.
